Healthy marriages don’t happen by accident.

You remember how you felt in the early days of your relationship. How in love you both were. How much you enjoyed each other. But then you woke up one day and realized the spark was gone. Somewhere in the midst of the daily grind that comes with raising a family, growing a career, and building a life together, you lost your sense of connection to each other.

Now your married life consists of managing logistics:

shuttling kids to soccer practice

getting dinner on the table

paying the bills.

Challenges in marriage are normal, but that doesn’t mean they’re not painful.

You’re not even sure the last time you had sex. It’s like your relationship has fizzled out. You want to get the spark back, but how?

Or maybe it seems like you and your spouse keep circling back to the same issues and having the same fights.

You’ve tried every tactic you know.

You’ve talked it out until you’re blue in the face.

You’ve ignored the issue and hoped it would resolve itself (it doesn’t).

You’re weary and feel like you’ve reached a stalemate. You love each other,

so why can’t you communicate better and resolve these issues?

Or perhaps you and your partner are going through a major life transition.

You’ve welcomed a new baby into your family.

Perhaps you’ve experienced the death of a loved one.

Maybe you’re finally empty nesters.

Your ‘normal’ has changed, and you feel lost.

How do you lean into your marriage as you adjust to this new season? How do you support one another well and walk through transition together?

You and your spouse came into marriage as two individuals from different families, upbringings, homes, and experiences. You each brought along expectations and desires for your relationship and your future, as well as wounds and hurts from your past. Therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space for you both to work through these challenges in your marriage together.

Whatever marital issues you and your spouse are experiencing, you are not alone. It is possible to work through conflict and rebuild connection. For many couples, they just need a little bit of help getting started.

Invest in the relationship that matters most to you with online marriage counseling.

Imagine you had a magic wand that you could use to make the issues in your marriage disappear.

Instead of fighting and bickering, there is laughter and playfulness.

Instead of mindlessly scrolling on your phones, there is real connection over the events and experiences of the day.

Sex is now mutually pleasurable, something you both look forward to.

You still have disagreements at times, but now you are able to calmly work them out with respect and empathy.

You feel supported, seen, and known by your partner. You have their back, and you know they have yours.

Hi, I’m Emily. I don’t have a magic wand, but as a licensed marriage and family therapist, it is my honor to walk alongside couples in their journey to build a happy and healthy marriage.

I work with couples in all stages of life who want to:

  • Invest in their relationship to grow a stronger marriage

  • Find healthier strategies to resolve conflict

  • Learn how to communicate with each other more effectively

  • Discover practical ways to prioritize their marriage in the midst of everyday life

  • Support each other during a difficult life transition

  • Be proactive about building a marriage that will last “till death do us part”

Together, I help you both chart a path forward through the issues in your marriage with online marriage counseling.

Take the first step to a healthier marriage

When you work with me as your marriage and family therapist, my goal is to help you:

  • Grow in understanding of yourself

  • Gain insight into your partner

  • Find common ground for you to move forward together

  • Learn to appreciate each other’s differences

  • Practice techniques to improve communication and grow in conflict resolution

  • Explore ways to reconnect with each other on a deeper level

I firmly believe there is no shame in asking for help. In fact, sometimes it’s the bravest choice you can make. It’s not easy to trust someone enough to let them into the issues in your marriage, and I don’t take it lightly.

Facing your marital issues may be uncomfortable, but growth is only possible when we push the boundaries of our comfort zones. In each online marriage therapy session, I strive to create a safe space for both you and your spouse to share, where you feel seen and heard.

By proactively investing in your marriage now, you can still be reaping the benefits five, ten, or even twenty years down the road.

Don’t wait until your marriage is in trouble to get help. Together, we will chart a path forward through the issues in your marriage with online couples therapy, and I will help you take the first step toward a stronger, healthier marriage.

What to expect

Step 1: Schedule your free consultation.

Research shows that the quality of connection between the therapist and the client is the most important factor in treatment success. This consult is set aside for us to meet each other virtually and decide if we will be a good fit before moving forward.

Step 2: Share your story and set goals.

Next, we spend the first few sessions discussing your history as a couple and the issues you are currently struggling with. We’ll also use these early sessions to define your goals for therapy and as a couple.

Step 3: Get to work.

Once we have an understanding of where we’ve been and where we want to go, it’s time to get to work! I use a variety of techniques in our therapy sessions, pulling from well researched approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and the Gottman Method. I will give you tools and ‘homework’ in between sessions to make the most of our time together and help you achieve the best results.

Step 4: Wrap up and determine follow up frequency.

Research shows that most therapy clients see improvement after an average of 12 online marriage therapy sessions. Some couples find that they enjoy therapy and choose to continue having sessions once a month or on a quarterly basis for check-ins. We will work together to determine what frequency and duration is best for you and your unique needs.

Reap the reward of investing in your marriage for years to come.

Facing your marital issues may be uncomfortable, but growth is only possible when we push the boundaries of our comfort zones. In each online marriage therapy session, I strive to create a safe space for both you and your spouse to share, where you feel seen and heard.
